RIP RPF - 3WW - CLXXXVIII (escape, hum, vibrant )

Escape at last, my friend -
though beyond my reach
still within the very hum
of a life once in tune

The very presence of your absence
a companion to my mourning
lost in the gray of sadness
the vibrant colors of memory

Profoundly sad and truly lost
the loved ones walk the day
searching for the answers
far too difficult to say

To dream...
To find those yesterdays
on which to base tomorrow's
song

Sleep well, brother.

Thanks, guys. It's been a difficult week and I struggled to find words in general. The prompt allowed me a starting point for an outlet. Peace. --larry

it is amazing how the loss of a loved one fills us with an unbearable emptiness and then the moments start to pass without our permission and we remember everything about them... a beautiful poem...
