Remember

I remember.
I remember waking from an almost-still-asleep to the news of an accident.
I remember the feeling that something was just not quite right with it all.
I remember the sight of the second plane's approach and its vanishing.
I remember the feeling of resignation that it was no accident.
I remember the collapse and then the next.
I remember the silence that lasted for days - like a pillow held around my ears.
I remember watching the skies.
I remember the feeling as I looked at our four year old son and knew that things had already changed in his lifetime.
I remember my disappointment in man.
I remember the sadness.
I remember.

Sought for Sullen Whispers

sought for sullen whispers
on the broken stairs
crept and slept and now I’ve wept
i’m lost in sudden stares

nine the tyne the barley wine
the hunchbacks on the stair
three times the swine of carried time
left hanging in the air

sweet the scent of travels gate
come engulf the shallows hole
the whirl of sunshine’s softer fate
from tempest and from troll
