Reality's Grasp - 3WW CLXIV (Obscene, Accident, Loyal)

Lucy lost her diamonds
as death rained from the sky
Honolulu Harlots
just goose stepping in time

As obscene is the night
searching hard for the sun
an accidental flight
finds solace on the run

Loyalty trumps anguish
the curtains fall away
sunshine blinds the seeing
the darkness lights the way

Transparent the porters
of yesterday's high mass
It seems she's losing grip
on sweet reality's grasp

This has some great lines and a nice cadence throughout, Larry. I love the tangible images that merge here. From the psychedelia of Lucy in the Sky to death raining in some Pearl Harbor nightmare. Very cool.

"sunshine blinds the seeing; the darkness lights the way" : this (oxymoronic?) construct is brilliant!

I like the Lucy in the sky with diamonds allusion too :)

Overall, this piece sings to me of sadness.

Great rhyme and rhythm. The imagery is wonderfully supportive of the topic and voice. It's a very fine read.

great cadence, and some absolute killer lines. Images spring to your mind as you read, which is key.
