Shards of stained glass windows
in a crimson red and black
seven thousand stand and wonder
after the water's gone and back
What of the miles not travelled
and what of that sour wind
seven miles to the graveyard
and they won't let me in
And supper's on the table
a warmed cartoon shaped rat
seven stories told of better times
when no-one could eat that
What of the miles not travelled
and what of that sour wind
seven miles to the graveyard
and they won't let me in
Come and set the table
for the house around's come down
seven sit and drink old whiskey
and search for familiar sounds
What of the miles not travelled
and what of that sour wind
seven hours til the break of dawn
yet another day begins

Stars of Future Memories
Stars of future memories
screaming through the sky
with sounds of background images
on the pallettes of our minds
And where do we lie dying
in the sand and in the rack
why can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
I say can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
Sounds of freedom distorted
out in the desert sun
when will the free be willing
to cast away the stone
Dancing winds of goth and gore
and a hat half full of rain
searching for the questions
to answers unexplained
And where do we lie dying
in the sand and in the rack
why can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
I say can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
screaming through the sky
with sounds of background images
on the pallettes of our minds
And where do we lie dying
in the sand and in the rack
why can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
I say can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
Sounds of freedom distorted
out in the desert sun
when will the free be willing
to cast away the stone
Dancing winds of goth and gore
and a hat half full of rain
searching for the questions
to answers unexplained
And where do we lie dying
in the sand and in the rack
why can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
I say can't the minstrel carry us
from our not so distant past
